With the largest display of livestock and record visitor numbers, the show management team heralded the event an outstanding success. Highlights this year included:
- Three royal visits, Her Majesty The Queen, HRH Princess Royal and HRH Princess Alexandra.
- Homecoming celebrations with Borders Ridings display, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, Native Livestock Breeds, clan and tartan history, whisky nosing and a taste of haggis!
- Dennis the Menace at the Children's Discovery Centre
- 15 of Scotland's top chefs showing their skills with Scottish food and drink
- A celebration of all things good from Aberdeenshire's larder
