Other Competitions
There are many different kinds of competitions that take place at the Royal Highland Show with entrants travelling from across the UK and Ireland and further afield to compete.
Entry Deadlines
Entries close 12 May for Dairy Cattle, Honey, Fleece and Sheep Shearing
Entries close 26 May for Show Jumping ending on after the final qualifying rounds.
Competition Classes are:
- Farriery classes which take place each day in the purpose built Forge and are a great spectator event.
- The Honey marquee is always a ‘hive of activity!’ with competitive classes for jars of honey and combs.
- The Sheep Shearing competition is fiercely fought with compeititors from around the world taking part.
- The Dairy Products classes sees cheese and butter judged by experts from the industry
- A more recent introduction is the Ice Cream class which sees experts judging vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream
- The Show Jumping classes at the Show attract many famous names within the sport from across the UK as well as Scotland Jumping take place in the main arena as well as in the equestrian ring
