All Things Animal!

One of the most exciting aspects of the show is of course the animals.  Over 4000 animals take part in a wide range of competitions and classes. Much of the action is in the Main Ring but as you wander round you will see lots of competitions, including sheep shearing and farriery, taking place.

Livestock exhibitors from across the UK bring their animals to the show because it is one of the most prestigious agricultural shows in the UK.  The Highland Hall is one of best places to see up the cattle up close as they are  prepared for showing.   There are lots of different breeds of sheep from the UK and further a field as well as around 100 goats, who  love the attention they get from show visitors

Horses big and small take part, from huge Clydesdale Horses to Shetland ponies.   The show jumping attracts top show jumpers from around the world and is one of the exciting highlights of the day.
