Musical EntertainmentEach year the Royal Highland Show bring together a packed programme of musical entertainment showcasing all types of music and dance.  Band Stand 1,  Band Stand 2, and the Main Ring are the best places to pause for a breather, have a seat and enjoy the sights and sounds. 2008  musical programme highlights include: <UL> <LI>‘Cor Godr’er Aran’: The Land of Song are an award winning Welsh male voice choir from Bala, North Wales.  Formed in 1949, the choir has travelled a world and most recently toured Patagonia. </LI> <LI>Scottish Pipe Bands: The show welcomes four pipe and bands, the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders ACF Band, Queen Victoria School Pipes and Drums; The Central Band of The Royal British Legion Scotland and the Scots Guards Association Pipes and Drums (Scotland Branch)More highlights of this year’s musical programme include: <UL> <LI>Strictly Come Salsa: Academia de Salsa are first time visitors to this year’s show debut bringing their Latino beats and thrilling dance moves. </LI> <LI>The McLaughlin Irish Dancers:  Award winning dance troupe showcasing the best of Irish dancing </LI> <LI>West End Jazz Band: Traditional and dixieland jazz from Linlithgow based band. </LI> <LI>North Sea Gas: An award wining group who will debut at the show this year with an exciting blend of Scttish and Irish folk music. </LI> <LI>The Colin Dewar Ceilidh Band: One of Scotland’s most popular ceilidh band and regular guests on  BBC Radio Scotland’s Take the Floor. </LI> <LI>Macumba return to the show with their infectious, rhythmic blend of Brazilian Samba and Scottish pipe music . </LI> <LI>North Ayrshire Schools: Having enjoyed sell out concerts at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall the talented young musicians from North Ayrshire take to the stage at this year’s show.
