The Royal Highland Show is a great family day out, with children aged 15 and under admitted free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
Once inside, you can experience the Show without spending another penny as all demonstrations, exhibitions and entertainment are free to enjoy. You may wish to buy something to eat or drink, however with so many samples available in Scotland's Larder Live! you might need less than you think and you are welcome to bring a picnic. Alcohol is not permitted to be brought on site, however we have lots of great bars to choose from in the Showground.
Each area within the Showground has a number of attractions including live music, the Cookery Theatre, Grand Parade and much more. Children can also get close to creatures in the Poultry and Honey Marquees (located in the Countryside Area), where they can learn the bee dance and make candles.
Many children love tractors, so it's worth visiting the machinery trade stands, however please don't allow children to climb on the displays - it is not safe for them to do so.
Free wristbands for Children - should you wish, you can collect a free wristband at the main gates from the Rotary Club. This can be used for writing a parent or guardian's phone number, which helps ensure that you are quickly reunited with your child should they become separated.
Parenting Room - There is a Parenting Room located within the Highland Hall on 15th Avenue.
Visitor Numbers - The Royal Highland Show is a popular event, that attracts big crowds. You may want to visit the Show on Thursday or Friday as these are usually less busy days.
