Section

Allocation

Sheep & Goats (4 day)

1-2 pens = 1 wristband
3-4 pens = 2 wristbands
5+ pens = 3 wristbands

Cattle (4 day)

1 stall = 1 wristband
2-3 stalls = 2 wristbands
4 stalls = 3 wristbands
5-7 stalls = 4 wristbands
8+ stalls = 5 wristbands
An exhibitor entering only 1 bull will get 2 wristbands

Heavy Horse (4 day)

1 stable = 2 wristbands
2-5 stables = 3 wristbands
6-8 stables = 4 wristbands
9+ stables = 5 wristbands
One additional wristband for each "Mare with Foal at Foot Entry"

Light Horse (day of entry)

2 LH Wrist Bands for the 1st horse entry and 1 LH Wrist Band for each additional horse entered, plus an additional Light Horse Wrist Band for each “Mare with Foal at foot” entry.

 

 

HGD (day of entry)

2 day wristbands/ per exhibitor for the day of competition

HHT (4 day)

3 Wrist Bands for the first stable plus 1 additional Wrist Band for each additional stable booked

Private Driving (day of entry)

2 Light Horse Wrist Bands for 1 entry, plus 1 light horse wristband for each additional entry

To be eligible for a caravan an exhibitor must have a minimum of 3 entries in the sheep section or 1 if competing in cattle or heavy horse sections. 

Cancellation of Entries/Pens - The closing date for cancellations of an entry is 29th April. A refund, minus a £5 administration fee, will be available up until these dates.

An exhibitor can swap membership tickets for livestock member wristbands which will also enable the member to access the normal member privileges.

The Show CPH Number is 84/582/8012. 

Dogs are permitted on the understanding that: 

  • They will be kept on a short lead and under control at all times; 
  • Owners will clean up after them;  
  • With the exception of assistance-dogs, they are not permitted in areas densely populated by people, used for catering or in which animals are contained, including but not limited to: standing galleries, seating decks, grandstands, exhibition halls, marquees, tents or buildings. 

Due to the proximity of the airport and the pitches being predominantly on hard standing, tents and awnings are not permitted. 

Light Horse FAQ's

Single-Day Competitors Horses competing on one day only may book stabling for a maximum of one night. Additional nights may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as long distance travel or timing of classes, at the discretion of the Competitions Team.

Non-Consecutive Day Competitors Horses competing on two non-consecutive days may also book stabling for the period between their classes.

Multi-Day Competitors Horses competing on three or more days may book stabling for the entire duration of the event.

There is no parking available for cars or other types of vehicles. These vehicles MUST park in the public car park entering via the normal public car parks gate. · Caravans and campervans are not permitted entry to the Light Horse Float Park.

The LHFP is open between 0600hrs and 2230hrs each day. · Anyone who anticipates arriving out with these times should notify the Livestock and Competitions Team by calling 0131 335 6164 who will inform the stable manager.

Straw is provided in the stables as bedding, additional straw is available.  Those who are stabling must bring their own equipment for mucking out.

Heavy Horse FAQ's

All horses and ponies must arrive by 2000hrs on Wednesday of show week. 

Straw will be provided for the outdoor stables and there will be a supply of haylage available. Indoor stables will be provided with sawdust, exhibitors must bring additional shavings to supplement as required.
